When Clarence (Big Matt) was in kindergarten, he fell in love with RC Cars, and from that time on, motors were in the order of importance right after Jesus and family. He began taking RC Cars apart to see how they worked in his elementary school years.
He could often be seen in the neighborhood driving an RC car down the block with no body pieces on it. What seemed like a kid destroying his toys was actually a kid preparing for the career of a lifetime!
Throughout adolescence, Matt continued to study RC cars, taking them apart and rebuilding them. Additionally, he would sporadically find himself repairing household appliances.
In college, Matt’s parents wanted him to get a bicycle to get some exercise, so he bought one and put a gas motor on it, and that’s how he got around during all four seasons in Albany, N.Y.
Soon after, he began to buy motorcycles, jet skis, boats, lawnmowers, paramotors, dune buggies, and even a hover craft to repair and sell. He worked on these as a hobby after work, (mostly as a Class A truck driver), and first thing in the morning on his day off, he would be in the garage doing what he loves.
Matt soon became the classic, ultimate, old school D.I.Y.er. With zero training, he replaced the motor in his grandfather’s central air unit. Any appliance or vehicle, he would always diagnose himself, and at least try to fix before calling “the professionals.”
Then, in 2020, Matt moved from Albany, N.Y. down to the Atlanta-metro area. In 2023, he bought and drove a golf cart for the first time, and it was love at first ride. Soon after that, he quit trucking, and worked on motors full-time.
Golf carts were quickly his favorite vehicle to work on. He could easily get his large hands in to access any part of the motor compartment. He could gently lay a golf cart on its side to change a tire. Golf carts don’t need trailers like boats do. Etc.! So, that’s why Matt loves golf carts.
Today, Matt’s priorities are a lot like they were in kindergarten: God, Family, and Motors. His business exactly reflects his passions, and he’s here to help with all of your golf cart needs and questions!
